Ms. Essency kindly supplied this as an add on to a couple of books I ordered from her and I will leave it on the book truck in the lobby of the VA Hospital where it will find an interested reader within a day or two. Mr. Taylor offers a long and well written Introduction. However, it is not necessary for the reader to have much interest in the late 19th C. idea of 'romantic friendship'--read the poems that interest you! The book is divided into sections such as Mates, Somewhere in France, the Dead. And this is not just Sassoon--there are a great many WWI vets represented and a surprising (to me) number of them were published.
Notes, Biographical notes about the poets, nine book bibliography, and index.
