Lalechka is a Jewish baby born in a Jewish ghetto in is city in Poland. At a year old her mother gives her to Sophie and Sophieâs mother a friend of hers since she was a child to raise because as their baby because your mother is not sure if her and the dad are going to make it through the war but they want Liszka to live and she can live as a Polish child with the motherâs friend Sophie and Sophieâs motherThe question is will Leach because parents make it through the war and if that who was she live with after that read the book and find out
