Fascinating because there's a minor twist you don't expect from a real-life exploration book. I feel guilty to admit that I was kind of bored for a chunk of the book--it's a diary of their day to day struggle on the ice, so for a long time what you read seems to be kind of the same thing from day to day, but in the end I really enjoyed it. It's not an account you hear much about in the U.S. and the interpersonal relationships of the survivors and how it's portrayed in this book is really amazing.

Fasinating! Then again anything that is linked to Jon Krakauer is fantastic! This is an unbelievable story of survival and human spirit.

I found this to be a very exciting book. For anyone who has ever wondered what it was like to be an explorer, this is a good book to read. I enjoyed it very much.
