I read the first book (Women of the Silk) first which is helpful tho not necessary as the author gives hints of previous events. I enjoyed learning about the time and period. Well written.

The follow-up to Women of the Silk; not as good, but worthwhile to follow the lives of the characters in the previous book.

I enjoyed this story. I read Women of the Silk first and this is the sequel. I found the first 2 chapters to be boring but was necessary to set up the rest of the story. Good read!!!!!
