This is the story of Jack, a young man who's values will be shaken as he sits in the hospital with his ailing grandfather, learns to appreciate his aunts, uncles and cousins he has been distant from since his early childhood. We learn of his grandfather's, Bud's, life through his memories while lying in his hospital bed after falling at the cemetary and hitting his head on his beloved wife's headstone. His life has been filled with night terrors from his World War II Airforce experiences including floating for days at sea after his plane was shot down. Throughout the story humor is used as well as insight into others to blend into a truly memorable novel. It is a very enjoyable read.
