Comical, heartbreaking, full of irony. The novel follows the adventures of Princeton dropout/exiled Southerner, Williston Bibb Barrett, on a whimsical, deeply moving journey through America. A romantic who falls madely in love with a women he first views through a telescope. Will is the last "gentleman", an unforgettable fictional character, a modern hero on a quest for home, identity and the meaning of life.
