I was wondering about the Last Posted dates on my wishlist books.  If a book on my wish list does not show a Last Posted date, does that mean it has never been posted?  I have some books on my wish list that I am 100+ in line and does not have a Last Posted date.  I have all of the 200 wish list book slots used with more I would like to add.  Should I remove the books that have no Last Posted date with high waiting list numbers and add the books I want that have lower numbers and have more recent Last Posted dates?

PBS tweeks this info occassionally Sharon, so I'm not sure how far back the "last posted" dates go.  I have some on my WL that were last posted in late 2008...so if you're number 100 or more on a wishlist that hasn't moved in over a year, yeah you may wish to rethink your strategy on those books and use the space for different books.

For books without a 'last posted' date showing...some of those on my WL are not yet released.  The others I'm unsure if they were never in the system, or just farther back than 14 months (from previous paragraph)

I have two books on my wish list with a last posted date in January 2006.  I have several with a last posted date in 2007.  So PBS does have some data from as far back as January 2006 that is being fed into the last posted date field.

Thanks for your help!  The oldest I have seen is 2006.  I guess it is safe to assume that with no last posted date that it was before 2006 when it was last posted.  I was hesitant to delete it when so many people have got in line behind me.  Here is an example of one.

Wish Date: 11/10/2009 - Your position: 107 of 125 - Estimate: N/A

I'm not sure how reliable the last posted information is.  Some of the books on my wishlist have been posted within the last six months (it showed wish granted that week), but are now showing nothing for last posted date.

Sharon, I don't think the dates are always reliable, I've seen posts from people who are positive they've received a book from PBS in the past, and now the book is showing no date, which would imply that it's never been posted.  I wouldn't remove a book on that criteria alone.  Now, if it's on your wishlist for 2 more years and you're still #100, then maybe!

I have noticed the same thing as Sara. I have some books on my WL last posted 2007/2008, but others that have had wishes granted or at one time had a last posted date of a month or two ago now show NO date. I don't really pay much attention to it anymore--at first I was excited about it, but now it just doesn't seem very reliable as a way of predicting.

I agree with the above posters -- I have seen books in my wishlist be posted, several copies in a week, and then it reverts to N/A like there has never been a copy in the system. Don't delete a book because you think you are never going to get it -- it is amazing how many books I have gotten here that I thought I would never see in the system.

Thank you all for the great advice.  I will leave them and watch to see what happens.
