I received a book that was marked mailed on the 8th that was actually mailed (USPS postage sticker stating the date) on the 14th...the book is in good condition (looks almost new).  Do I have to mark it RWAP postmark or will received in good condition noting the postmark still generate a reminder email to the sender?

Amber--you definitely are in your rights to mark the package RWAP-late mailing.  But, under the circumstances--almost new book & not severely--(two/three + weeks) late mailing, I'd probably just mark the book received and note the postmark on the received screen.  I'm not sure if PBS does anything with this--they might send out an automatically generated e-mail letting the poster know the book was mailed late, or they might just use it to keep track of late mailing patterns.  You can always send a gently worded e-mail to the sender thanking her for the book and just mentioning the late mailing.

You don't have to.  It is up to you.  It is helpful to note the date of the postmark in the survey area.   The late mailing RWAP generates an email, but basically goes through like normal.

PBS expects the sender to contact you if they are mailing more than four days late.

The site works best if you mark things accurately.  If you mark it mailed late, enter the postmark, and send a cordial note regarding the like-new book, you will be doing the best thing you can do for the site and all of its members.

Since it was mailed only 6 days late, I would mark it received and put the mailed date in the box.  Parts of the country have been experiencing really bad weather, so I wouldn't be picky about 6 days.

The site works best if we mark things accurately. If the person doesn't make a habit of mailing late, nothing will come of it.

These details also help the system calculate travel times and the best member to select books from when processing a Gold Key request and looking for the fasted shipped book.

The email will likely not even go out on a 6 day late book. I believe the cutoff is 8 days. (eta: the RWAP notice would go out, the late mailing notice from the date entered would not)

Its not a penalty-reward system. It is just logging in a book properly. I don't see how the book condition has anything at all to do with mailing late.

Is there still a box to mark (mailed date or comment) without logging in as RWAP?  I thought that went away last time the log in options were updated.

Denise, it's still there, just not a comment box like in a RWAP.

Note: Amount of postage and postmark date are optional.
How much postage was on this wrapper?  ______ $
If a postmark date exists, please type it in the box:_______    ←click in box for calendar

Denise - You can still enter the postmark date even if you mark it Rcvd in Good Condition.
