I was just curious as to whether anyone here has read Lauren Conrad's books? (She's the girl from "Laguna Beach" and "The Hills" on MTV.) I know she had the one "LA Candy" and I found at least one other new one coming out soon, plus one that may be the same book but with an altered title. I decided I may add them to my WL if space frees up but don't want to risk the spot if the books are dreck. I guess they'd be considered chick lit? Or YA? Or just total crapola? I don't care for her at all, her raccoon eyes bug me, but if it's a good ready, then hey, who am I to care? Would love to read anyones' opinions, thanks! |

I'm not sure about her other stuff but LA Candy is definitely considered YA. |

It's a three book series the first one is L.A. Candy, the second one Sweet Little Lies (just came out at the beginning of the month) and the third is going to be called Sugar and Spice and set to be released in Oct last I heard. I have read L. A. Candy and just about to begin Sweet Little Lies. I enjoyed the book but I was also a fan of her on Laguna Beach and The Hills. In my opinion if you didn't really like the concept of The Hills and the lifestyle of a reality star being followed by cameras you probably won't like the books. At least the first book is centered around the making of a reality tv and how it's all set up (ie. where to go, what to wear, what to say). But I did think it was entertaining and a good quick read for me! Hope this helps a little |

Cool, I decided to go for them and have been putting them on my WL as space frees up. |

I read LA Candy only because i was a big fan of Laguna Beach and the HIlls, and wanted to see what Lauren's writing was like. I had no idea what the book was going to be about...I would say i was pleasantly surprised, although i agree it is probably written more for a young adult crowd. Kept my attention though! |
