Okay, so I had the first in this series on my wish list, and I was just offered it.  The sender PMd me saying she also has the second two books in the series that she hasn't posted yet.  She says she'll post them to me directly if I want them.  (BTW, that is sooooo nice of her!)

So . . . do I want them?  Will I love them?  Getting all three will almost wipe out my credits (I'm one of those who constantly runs on fumes in the credit department), and it never fails that when I'm out of credits, a bunch of wishlisted books become available.

I'm of two minds when it comes to series.  On the one hand, it's nice to have the complete series so that if I love the first one, I can immediately pick up the second and subsequent without having to wish list them, wait, etc.  On the other hand, if I hate the first book in the series, I don't like being saddled with the others.  However, I think these are somewhat popular, so if I don't like them, I'm pretty sure I'd be able to swap them out right away.  On the other hand, it's not like I'm lacking for reading material and won't have anything to read without these.  Who knows?  I may not get to them for years and can bide my time waiting for the other books in the series.

Aacck!  What to do? Why does being a reader have to be so hard???  crying

Thoughts?

I always figure a book in hand is much better than being forever on a wish list. I haven't read these but all the kids here at my library just love them. And look at it this way.. if you don't like them there is a long waiting list here at PBS for all of them.

I know others tend to buy the entire series, but I don't.  However, I think it is a win-win on this case - if you love the first one, you'll be able to go right to the next one. If you hate it, you'll have two WL Books to swap out for more points.

Go for it!

I'd take them. I enjoyed the 1st two books, then waited for ages on the 3rd.

I've read the first, have the second on my shelf and I'm waiting on the third.  I'd say take them.  The first one was really good, with a hunky hero that might give Uhtred a run for his money!

Okay, ya'll convinced me.  I've accepted the offer for all three!  Now, who should I come crying to when I need credits?  LOL!

Christa - I'm firmly convinced, after recently meeding HF-favorite Jamie Fraser and not falling in love, that Uhtred is pretty much the man -of-the past for me, but I'm willing to check out some other guys!  wink

Now I had to go and WL them all, too.  I'm not yet to where my TBR and WL and RL is more than I can read in my lifetime, but at the rate I'm going, I'm going to be there soon.
