Back of cover: Money is scarce for Leah's family ever since her father died. Her mother struggles to support Leah and her brother Daniel with her sewing.
The family has to move into a building with a dark, gloomy hallway. When Leah is sent to buy groceries, she is frightened by the new tenant stubbling up the stairs. But the man doesn't see Leah...Gideon Brown is blind.
Leah soon loses her fear of this sightless man who plays the quitar and sings alone in his room. They even become frieneds! When one of her mother's customers wants to adopt Daniel, Leah turns to Gideon for help. Gideon brings the family back together- ni a way Leah never would have expected.
