This is a good book. However, it may not be the best book if you do not have a teacher to guide you through learning ASL. It is intended as a companion text to a "live" teacher or to be used along with the VHS created by the same people who wrote the book (which is done totally silent with no subtitles). I am currently using it for an ASL level I class. It is also used for ASL level II.
