I must say I was very disappointed in this book. I recently discovered Maureen Lee and I really enjoyed all her books that I've read- they are usually big, sweeping sagas based in wartime Liverpool, with lots of interweaving stories and characters, and they are very absorbing. This one however revolved around a dopey misunderstanding that left one sister on a ship going to NY, who loses her memory, and one sister left in Liverpool. It follows their separate lives, and neither character is particularly likable or sympathetic. The sisters meet up again about 2 pages before the end. As I said, disappointing, especially since she is usually a top notch author. If you can find them, read the Pearl Street series or the September Girls, much more fun!
