Kidnapped to Dimension X! When Rod Albright's cousin Elspeth arrived for a visit the day after school let out for the summer, Rod thought his vacation was ruined. But after they were kidnapped to Dimension X by a monster named Smorkus Flinders, Rod realized that Elspeth was the least of his problems. After all, what's a bratty cousin compared to cranky monsters, furious aliens, and the discovery that you are stuck in the middles of an interstellar power play? And that doesn't begin to take into account the horrifying personal decision that Rod will be forced to make before his adventures are over.

My son and I eagerly read Bruce Coville's series of adventures about aliens who rely on a young earthling for help with a series of exciting adventures. Each book was a treasure for us until we ran out of books to read. We waited for almost a year for this one to be published. And we weren't disappointed. Now 18, he still remembers this series fondly. And so do I. It is warm and humorous, fast paced and fun. To me that's what sharing a book with a child is all about.
