Great Book. After struggling through the prologue, and may be the first chapter, the rest of the book get exciting.
A secret government group is sent out to recover a group of college students and their team leader (who was formerly a part of this secret gov't grp.) from the amazon. They set out to follow an ancient map from an expedition that was orginally set out for gold in the 1700's. What is dicovered is a lost world that no one is prepared for.

Golemon's storytelling echoes Clancy's penchant for multiple, complex miltary/political subplots but is more interesting for his focus on archeology and legends of the past. Imaginative yarn, plenty of techno-thrills and close escapes. If he would only develop or at least explore the interpersonal relationship between two of his main characters (Jack and Sarah)--or the roadblocks involved--a bit more rather than merely teasing the reader on the subject, I would have nothing at all to complain about with this book. Overall, a great read.
