The hard truth is that diets don't work. Harding and Kirby present the evidence supporting this fact. They also debunk "THE OBESITY CRISIS BOOGA BOOGA BOOGA" and "The Fantasy of Being Thin." But, they don't leave us hanging there. They present positive choices that fat girls (guys, too but the book is oriented toward women) can make that will leave us healthier and happier.

The authors provide end notes, appendices and an index. Even with all that, it's not a hard read. It's a humor filled talk among friends. If you need something deeper, they point you to the more serious resources.
