The battle for a planet bacame a battle of the sexes: the proud and powerful Kimassu Lady is a judge; she restores "equity". Her current problem is how to rid her planet of interfering Terrans and restore the island paradises to normal.

Admiral Gorky's problem is more complex. The Terran would like to know why Kimassu has not aged in years. And he wants to possess her. But having Kimassu as his mistress is a dangerous step. Long life is but one of the alines' many cultural, mental and physical differences. The admiral is in for a big surprise.
