What is library and school binding?  I keep seeing this but am not sure what it looks like.

It is a paperback that has been rebound into either a hardcover or more sturdy covering.

I am a librarian and library bound usually means stitched binding rather than glued and the backs are of a sturdier material.  School binding is usually a hardbound paperback but sturdy.  Sadly, even the library bound books are not as sturdy as in the past.  The spine is sometimes not clothtape and it is not sewn.
