This may seem obvious, but I am posting the question for your advice: Hubby and I became empty nesters in 2013, so we downsized and moved recently. During that move, I donated a lot of books and kept less than half of what I had. Problem I have is a lot of stuff is still in boxes. I'm not sure what books I kept and which ones I donated and even if I did; I would have to dig through lots of boxes to find specific books. Moving is quite a process and I'll be up to my ears in boxes til spring! Not to mention work, deaths, illnesses, etc .. . Life is utterly chaotic right now! Is there a way to put my bookshelf on hold indefinitely or should I just delete everything on my bookshelf? I hate to delete everything and have to re-enter later. I have had it on hold, but it expires and then I get requests; which I just can't deal with right now. Suggestions??

Put your wish list on auto-request, and your account on Vacation Hold. Putting individual bookshelf books on Hold is not advised. You remove yourself from the FIFO list, putting yourself at the end of the list. Vacation Hold will keep your place. Once you get a chance to unpack and do an inventory, then print out your bookshelf. Delete any you got rid of. I actually went through mine to limit it to books that will fit in one box, saving space and hunting for books. You can ask PBS to put you on a longer term Hold if you wish. But I think that will, again, remove you from the FIFO line. Last Edited on: 1/17/14 6:30 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

My shelf is on hold until January 1, 2020. You can set the vacation hold quite a bit ahead in time. |
