An excellent look at how a hospital administration can make or break a new doctor's career, regardless how competetent or incompetent the doctor is. Dr. Fiore, who is brand new to the hosptial, has the luck of attending the chief surgeon's son, who has been in an accident. What follows is a gripping tale of how two men relate to their vastly different sons and how Dr. Fiore gets caught up in the middle of their lives. Though set in a hospital and though most of the action takes place in the hospital, this book brings the sometimes esoteric medical language and lives down to layman's terms, as the author explores the strong, sometimes defiant sprit of Dr. Fiore and her colleagues.
