Its now lighter for a little bit longer, and will be even more noticeable next week;  It will be NICE to have more light! The Rhododendrons have buds on them I noticed today: so we will soon  be having displays of beautiful flowers: forsynthia, crocus, daffodills, tulips; azaleas, etc;

I feed birds all year round but especially love seeing them in the winter months; we get mirgrating birds here: and it's a joy to see the various woodpeckers, etc, making their way through. Have to say, I was astonished to see a hawk the size of a golden eagle here a month ago; in my neighbors huge trees on the property beind mine. While I have seen hawks all my life I had never seen one this size before. Was told that they can indeed get this large due to age. Think it was identified as a red tailed one.

Also had a juvenile peregrine falcon come to visit: needless to say, everyone scattered fast! I find that doing this occupies me & gives me a far better outlook during the dark & gloomy winter months.

What kind of things do you do?
