One of my favorite books. I'm not a huge Koontz fan but he out did himself with this one.

Another winner from Koontz. There are times it slows down and I wondered how I was only half way through and what in the world he would come up with to fill the next 200 pages, but most of it is gripping and funny and emotion filled. If you get a copy, I highly recommend one with his afterword, as it is the funniest part of the book and an interesting insight into this varied, intriqing writer. (The ISBN that I am reviewing has the afterword)

A typical Koontz thriller with lots of suspense! A strange storm struck the night that Laura was born that people would remember for years. But who was the mysterious stranger who saved Laura from a fatal delivery and would return years later to save her from a tragedy? This is another great Koontz book that I couldn't put down till I finished reading it.

Good book, well worth the read. He takes a few liberties with time travel, but still enjoyed it very much.

My favorite Koontz novel. More sci-fi than horror.

A storm struck on the night Laura Shane was born, and there was a strangeness about the weather that people would remember for years. But even more mysterious was the blond-haired stranger who appeared out of nowhere-the man who saved Laura from a fatal delivery. Years later-another bolt of lightning-and the stranger returned, again to save Laura from tragedy.

A bolt of lightning brings a blond-haired stranger into Laura Shane's life. But is he the guardian angel he seems? The devil in disguise? Or the master of a haunting destiny beyond time and space?

Another Dean Koontz travel into the unknown. This story centers on Laura Shane. On the night she was born, a stranger appeared during a freak storm to save her from death. Years later, when tragedy struck, the same man was there to save her a second time. Who is this man and why is he saving Laura?

While this book is not as action-packed as some of Koontz's other novels, it is still a good sci-fi/mystery story that also incorporates history as well.

From Library Journal: "On the night of Laura Shane's birth, a stranger appears from the lightning to prevent her delivery's being botched by an alcoholic physician. Throughout Laura's childhood the stranger reappears at times of danger. He protects rather than threatens, yet menace seems to follow him. Thirty years later another storm flashes and the stranger collapses, shot, at Laura's door. Now Laura protects her erstwhile guardian from mysterious hunters. He reveals that he and the hunters are time travelers. Laura, quick-witted and brave, leads the way to a bloody showdown. The paradox in time travel's tampering with history provides an interesting twist in this gripping thriller by a popular writer." Copyright 1988 Reed Business Information, Inc.

I really liked this one. It's different than some of his darker stories.
