Just curious.  :)  Noticed someone today saying she had 700, yikes!  I feel like my shelf is overcrowded if there are more than 40!

I have a little over 600 posted, but then I also have plenty of room to store them in my unattached garage.

I think it's whatever you feel comfortable with.  I have 70 right now and that feels too many.  I had 2 requested yesterday and I didn't even realize I had them posted. I had to go and find them before I could accept the request.  I have 300 unread books and that's very overwhelming.  But then I don't have any place to really store them where I can seperate by genre and author.  If I had the space to do that I could probably handle a bigger shelf.  Plus then there's the time involved in mailing books out. I've been sending out 5-15 books a week with my small shelf. I can't imagine how it would be with several hundred books posted.  I want this to be a hobby not a full time job.

I have a little over 200 books on my shelf right now. too many I think. I store them all together so that I can keep track of them and find them easily. I like to run specials every once in a while to get it down but then I go right back out and find more books to post.  it's a vicious cycle LOL.

I've gotten books this week from 2 people with only 4 books on their shelves.  Maybe they buy credits when they need them.

I think I saw someone's shelf who had about 2800 (yep, that's twenty-eight hundred!!) posted. So, my guess is you can post as many as you've got!

I keep my shelf at 100....give or take a few.  I have two rubber maid tubs and when they are full, I stop till I have sent some on.

I had to go look and see what I have. 86 they seem managable still. I can't imagine 2800 that blows my mind. I thought I would try to stay around 100. (try)

Merry Christmas

holy cow. where could you possible store 2800 books and keep track of them? it'd take a huge amount of time to search thru' them to find one when requested I would think.

We don't have quite that many, but we do have over 1800 books for swapping. DH has just over 500 on his shelf right now with about 300 to be posted. I have just over 900 with about 150 to post right now.

We use a database here on our computers to track all of our books, sent, swap, keep, loans. Even gifts, that way if we want to get our kids a book we know if we already did or not :)  Doesn't keep me from ordering duplicates, but it let's DH know when I do, so he can remind me that I'm supposed to look first hahahahahaha

Btw, Jeanette, I only have to search for books when I occasionally don't mark a book as being pulled to go with a special deal or such. Otherwise, after we mail our books for the week or whatever, DH goes thru the list of books, and marks them mailed in the database.

The program we use takes the ISBN we insert, then goes onto the Internet and brings back into the database all the info it can find off a list of sites, including an image of the cover, and sometimes the book description.

The books are stored on the shelves first by HC/Oversized & PBs, then alphabetically first by author then title in the two sections. The PBs are double lined on the shelves, with the HC/OS on the ends as bookends. Really not usually a problem finding a book. :)

now that's the sign of an organized person sherry :-)

I'm afraid I'm not that good. I do keep my pbs books in one area so that they can be found easy when requested but in no way are they alphabetized. I did have my keeper/tbr shelf in alphabetical order at one time but it jsut got too big so I got sloppy. now they are all mixed up LOL.

I have all my posted books in a plastic bin.  Not in any kind of order but I only have 70 on my shelf so it's not a bid deal.

I have over 300 in the TBR pile on a small book case with 3 shelves.  About once a month I make myself go through it and add newly obtained books into the alphabetized shelf and purge a couple that I was either keeping but haven't looked at in a long time or that I don't think I'm ever going to read.  I keep any WL books in the TBR pile on top of the bookcase. That's the shelf I peruse first when I'm looking for a new book to start.

I can't imagine having so many books posted and on different sites.

My "to trade" books are sort of alphabetized by title, but only in four groups, A-F, L-M, etc.  That way it doesn't take any time to maintain but when I'm looking for a book I'm only looking through 1/4 of the books at a time.
