I found this to be an amazing book. Perhaps because I consider Abraham Lincoln to be the greatest American who ever lived. It's been said that the only person who has had more books written about him than Abraham Lincoln is Jesus Christ.

I thought I knew what Lincoln looked like and could identify him in any photograph. But I was wrong. There are so many images of him in this book where I would have trouble thinking the man was Lincoln. Although Lincoln often described himself as "ugly," in many of these images he appears handsome.

The authors also did a great job of selecting text with some relevance to the dates of the images. They also included some stories of Lincoln I was unaware of, and I've read numerous books about our 16th President.

If you are a fan of Lincoln, this is a must read and a keeper.
