Brutal warfare writer, but this is the story written as German knows it's beaten... The Allies have their beachhead on the Norman coast, and are moving in! I love that Sven went into some detail of the internal German conflict of whether to destroy all of Paris while retreating from the city as the Allies advanced. Good stuff! And the entire world is glad the Germans left as much of this wonderful city intact as it did. Read Sven's books if you get into this genre. You'll be glad you did. But they are brutal indeed.
