i listed a book twice by mistake and only have one copy . how can i cancel it is on someones wishlist

If it has gone on WL hold, you'll have to wait until the request shows up on your main account page, and then cancel it from there - you can't actually remove a book from your shelf when it's on hold.  As the reason, just explain that the book was accidentally listed twice.  I've seen this happen more than once, but with WL books, I'm really unsure as to how it happens.  I've had double copies of WL books several times and couldn't post the second copy until the first copy was marked mailed.

Send a PM to second person who has the "phantom" book being wished and explain the situation and ask them to please accept and then you will cancel.  This will put them back at #1 for the next book.

I have had this happen twice on WL books.... I posted once, but it went on my shelf twice.  Both times the requestors were really nice about it.

I've had this happen a couple times too, but it's been about a year or so. There was a glitch that caused it when I would take my books off vacation hold--for some reason it would post some of them twice. Surprised the heck out of me to accept a request for a book and a few hours later get the same request again! Maybe the glitch gnomes are loose again.
