Someone sent me some books and on the right hand side is the little Green Tracking Checkmark. My question is, how accurate is that? Because the little truck has been at the same place for the past 10 days and I'm wondering if it is lost or something? |

It's not accurate. It's a fun visual. The only thing to trust are the actual tracking record updates (and it sounds like you don't have any). If you have the 'usps received notice to expect package #blah blah blah' but don't have anything after that, my guess is they printed postage at home and forgot to mail it. Otherwise the truck would move. |

or if the bar code was printed on a ink-jet printer &/or wasn't clear, then the post office couldn't scan it. I've rec'd a few where my post office had to hand enter the numbers on the DC. |

The bar code is "delivery confirmation" so technically it doesn't HAVE to be scanned until it's delivered. But usually it does get scanned somewhere along the way. It depends on how far they are from a regional distribution center. I use an ink jet printer for all my labels and have never had an issue with them not being able to be scanned--I've sent hundreds of books with the PBS printable postage. Have others had problems with that?? Cheryl |

Cheryl, not me and I put clear packing tape over it so it doesn't smear if it gets wet. |

well poop. It was coming from CA. got all the way to Vermont. and has just been sitting there. No checkpoints on the way though. Oh well. the perils of PBS ;-) I just don't want to have to rebuy them from someone else... |
