I've been working on my college thesis for a few months and now it's getting down to the wire (one reason why my shelf and RAOK offers are currently on hold). It's due in a month; it's crunch time now. And I am starting to feel the pressure. I just finished sobbing into my suitemate's skirt because another deadline is approaching and I do not feel prepared for it. I could use a little support on the outside, if you know what I mean. I hate asking this for myself but I am craving a pick-me-up. If anyone might have the time to send me a surprise card, with a vote of confidence written inside, that would really raise my spirits. My family doesn't seem to understand how much surprise cards in the mail make me smile but I bet you guys do. I've met so many wonderful people on this forum; I hope you all might help me through my last month of college classes and thesis. Paving the way with cards full of kind words would make the days so much easier. If you can spare the time, my college mailbox is: [Removing my address now that thesis is done!] Thank you everyone! I really appriciate your help! Last Edited on: 4/19/11 10:38 AM ET - Total times edited: 2 |

My college mailroom must be thinking that it's my birthday because my mailbox was stuffed with envelopes when I got back from spring break! Thank you everyone! Sadly I can't mention everyone individually in the acknowledgements page of my thesis but know that every single one of you will be on my mind when I type out 'Thank you to all my wonderful friends on PBS for going out of their way to send kind thoughts to a perfect stranger'. I love you all! I'm about three weeks away from the thesis due date. Soon I'll be getting back edits and notes from my thesis advisor. I'm so close but not out of the woods yet. If anyone else might still have time to send me a card, the continued support will be welcomed. You guys are the best! I don't know what I'd do without you! |

Hi Erin......: I will send a "special support," so happy to do this.....I remember my daughter going through just the same thing as you...(and now she has her Doctorate ..a title she well deserved.....as you will also....)))when her project was coming down to the final moments.....it is a challenge to just get out of bed each day and gather the stamina to proceed....but she finished and now lives in Belgium, because of her talents....and I am sure you will also......just take one day at a time....and remember that you deserve this because you have worked so very hard..... with good thoughts and warm wishes....marion

Sandi B, your card arrived yesterday! Thank you so much for the kind words, I really appriciate it! *hugs* Marion, your post is so sweet! It's reassuring to hear stories of others who have gone through the process and know that I will soon join their ranks as a thesis survivor. Thanks! :D Thanks again to everyone! |

My thesis is now done! Only a few formatting changes need to be made and then I can turn it in on Wednesday morning! Thank you to everyone who sent me a card or a kind PM and kept me in their thoughts. I wouldn't have gotten through this whole ordeal without knowing that I had so many people (people I had never even met before!) cheering for me and keeping me in their thoughts. Thank you, everyone! Thank you so much! |
