I loved this book. A member from this site recommended the book and I need to find her and thank her. I read the book in one night, could not put it down. This book is about a friendship between Mai (a woman who emigrated from Vietnam) and Shelley (a woman who is in the process of adopting a baby). Lots more to the story too, do not want to give the story away.

This was the first book I read from this author. I read it fairly quickly. She has a wonderful way of telling this story. At times it was funny snd other times very sad. The characters were very believable. I felt like I knew Mai myself. I highly recommend this book.

This book was easy to read, with well done characterizations. All of the characters were believable and likeable. I found it interesting that the main characters run a funeral home and how that fact affects their lives. where we have been and how it affects our views and choices. I don't know when I have enjoyed a book more
