The Long Winter is the terrorizing story of what happens when a new Ice Age devastates the Northern Hemisphere, when civilization disappears into a voiceless polar night, when men and women turn into human wolf packs in their agonized struggle for survival . . . and when the only place left to run is filled with another kind of death.

The story was more about two couples who had trouble deciding who to be married to and their civilized reactions to betrayal and affairs. This occurs while the world is slipping into an ice age and Africans are going berserk with their newfound importance and power. The lead character is trying to save a marriage to the woman who left him for another man while dating his ex wife at the same time while starving to death as a refugee. Yeah.
