I wasn't sure what to expect from this book when I entered the Goodreads contest for it. I knew it was going to have some comedy, which is always a good thing, and would mostly be lighthearted, which is again a good thing.

What I didn't expect was for Cindy Chupack to invite us into her and her husband Ian's life for 200 pages. And I'm glad I read it! This book was just a wonderfully delightful trip through the ups and downs of another person's marriage.

Now, don't get me wrong, she doesn't go into all the sordid details of their marriage, but rather, she tells stories and anecdotes to show that life isn't perfect, and neither is marriage. She and her husband got married later in life, and they tried for children; and failed. And that part of the book is what got to me the most I think.

As a married woman, it's inevitable to get the questions of "when are you going to have kids?" and "are you pregnant yet?" And she kind of helped me calm in that area. She and her husband suffered from infertility, and ended up adopting.

The only reason I did not give this book five stars is that I just can't relate to their upscale lifestyle. Cindy Chupack is a writer. She wrote for "O" magazine, as well as being a screenwriter for a little show called "Sex in the City." They talk a little about their famous friends, and the amazing dinner parties that they hosted, and I just couldn't relate to that. So, all in all, this book got four stars from me.

I kicked myself when I started reading it for not reading it sooner. If you're looking for a fun, lighthearted look at true life, and romance, pick up this book. I know I'll be giving it as a gift to all my currently married friends, and a gift at all bridal showers I visit in the future...
