Need an American History textbook for 5th grade. Not picky about publisher, just want something that is thorough and chronological. Do you have something? Thanks!

We are using the series written by Joy Hakim.  I haven't seen any of them listed on here but they are available at my library.  There is a series of 6 I believe.

There is Hakim's books,  and there are 10. I believe most of them are wishlisted.  We are doing 4th for US History right now and had a hard time finding what I wanted so I put together my own (UGH!).  I found a Scott Foresman text for an upper grade at a thrift store that I am using as one of my spines.

If you don't find anything listed under the homeschooling genre, be sure to do a search of general non-fiction.  I've found several great resources that way.

I also recommend the Hakim series.  They are highly wished for on PBS, but your library should have them.

Many people also like the audio series that goes along with the books (yes, 10, with an 11th - Index).
