I'm looking for mystery/suspense audio CDs for car trips. I'm not sure the best way to find them here. If anyone has any they're looking to offload, PM me. If you have suggestions on how I can search and find them, please let me know as well.

Thanks!

Wendy

I hope I don't get in trouble for mentioning these, but here is what I do:

My library - excellent source Cracker Barrel - they have a rental program.  It costs a lot up front, but you get most of it back upon returning audiobook.

http://www.audiobookstand.com/  I recently discovered this website.  They are always running $10 unabridged audiobook on CD specials.  So far I've purchased 5 or 6 JD Robb audio books this way.  Oh and they ship quickly so if you need them within a week chances are good you'd get them in time.

Now to mention a few of my favorite audiobooks:

JD Robb - the entire series is excellent.  It has some pretty steamy sex scenes so if children are going to be in the car you won't want to get these. (favorite narrator is Susan Ericksen)

Harry Potter - I was amazed by how great Jim Dale did with this series.  I listened to it ages ago, but recently we borrowed the first six from the library and my husband has been listening to them (and me when I have time).  I bought him the final book as a Xmas present (shhhhh).

Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series - but I only enjoy C.J. Critt - she has the voices and mannerisms down pat.  I couldn't believe it when they went from a New Jersey accent to a cultured northern (bostonian or NY) accent.  What were the publishers thinking UGH.  This series is pretty clean.

Clancy books - It's been years ago but we did get some of the Jack Ryan series on Audiobook.  They were pretty good.

hope this helps.

Wendy,

I have a new sealed audiobook on 4 cassettes that I bought for myself, until I got a new car and it had a CD player.

You can have it free with an order! Please PM me if interested.

The Shark Mutiny by Patrick  Robinson. "It is the year 2007, and the Chinese are poised to challenge  America's superiority on the open sea and upset the delicate balance of oil  power in the Middle  East........Most dramatic story of rebellion on the high seas since Caine Mutiny..."

Tina,

Could you repost the web address for "Link" audio books?  I can't get it to work.

Thanks,

Donna H

I  have "Killer Instinct" by Joseph Finder on my bookshelf. I listened to it on a trip and really got into it. Read by Scott Brick.

Book Description:

Jason Steadman is a thirty-year-old sales exec for a major electronics company in Boston. He’s witty and well-liked but, to the chagrin of his ambitious wife, it looks like Jason’s career has hit a ceiling. He lacks the one thing that could help him get ahead: the KILLER INSTINCT

All that changes when Jason meets Kurt Semko, a former Special Forces officer just back from Iraq. Looking for a decent pitcher for the company softball team, Jason gets Kurt, who was once drafted by the majors, a job in Corporate Security. Soon, good things start to happen for Jason—and bad things start to happen to Jason’s rivals.

Too late does Jason discover that Kurt has been paving his path to the top by the most efficient, devious means available. Now that his new best friend has become the most dangerous enemy imaginable, Jason stands to lose far more than his job….
