I have just finished reading Silver Angel by Johanna Lindsey and The Pirate Prince by Connie Mason.  I have also read Captive Bride by Johanna Lindsey. I would like to find other books like them with harem/sultan/desert/kidnapping type stories. Anyone know of any that they would recommend.

Johanna Lindsey has a couple other ones that are kidnapping but not desert or sultan stories...She has Fires of Winter, Secret Fire, Once A Princess, a Pirates Love,  and  Prisoner Of My Desire. They all have to do with some form of Kidnapping. I loved them all---these kinds of books really got me into Johanna Lindsey.

Catherine Coulter has a book called Devil's Embrace which atlest fits the Kidnapping part

Seems to me like there's a sheik-napping in This Loving Torment by Valerie Sherwood.  If you're looking for that old skool bodice ripping, kidnapping, etc. thing, Sherwood is probably more over the top than  Lindsey:P

Not quite as deep/long as Lindsey and Mason, but Diana Palmer's Once in Paris/Lord of the Desert (yeah, you gotta read both) does the sheik/kidnapping theme and does it with a twist.

Also, The Sheik's Mistress by Brittany Young (Silhouette Special Edition #1187). Don't dismiss this book because it's a category. It's actually quite good and with a few unexpected plot twists. The heroine is not only kidnapped, but darn near sold into white slavery...

Thanks everyone I will check into those. I have almost all of Johanna Lindsey and have just finished reading Hearts Aflame today. I don't have Once A Princess though, I will have to check into that one too.

Bertrice small also has The Kadin and you might also like Skye O'malley. Those are my favorite books by her.

Taming Charlotte - Linda Lael Miller - It has the shiek, desert, holding against will (she was left there for protection) and harem.

I wish I could find a book I read in the late '70s.  The blond Heroine was kidnapped by a pirate on the high seas, but although he trained her in the sexual arts, he did not steal her maidenhead.  When she got to the harem of the guy who bought her from the pirate, they shaved her with beeswax and string.  Is this striking any notes for anyone?  She, of course,  becomes the sheik's favorite concubine or wife or whatever and that is all I remember.  Pretty explicit for the era.

Ok, here is a link that may be good! It has a lot of different sheikh themes--although a lot are Silhouettes...which may be hard to find. It gives a brief little tease about each one.

Christina Nicholson. The Savage Sands. New York: Fawcett Crest, 1978.

I think this is the book I am looking for.  It sounds most like the one I read so many years ago.   Thanks for the link,  FeeFee.
