I've been looking for a few books that were published in the mid 80's. one in particular but of course can't remember titles or authors - duh. one of the books that I'm looking for is the heroine is brought back to England from the U.S. and she has a problems with wearing shoes. Sorry can only remember certain things. Another one and I know it is a common theme but the hero is an undercover ranger, falls in love with a nice gal, but his contact (which of course the heroine doesn't know this) is a callgirl in a saloon. One more to pick your brain is the hero's name is Seth and he leaves his heroine a note but she can't read and she thinks that he has left her and their child. In the meantime lthe child dies and she learns to read, becomes a famous singer and the hero's (Seth) brother is escorting her around the country on her tour to sing. I know that I'm asking alot but I would really appreciate it if someone can give me some titles and of course authors with any answers; I do know that it is NOT Johanna Lindsey - I have all her books. I will read all replies THANK YOU for your time and patience. |

well we had one solved in about 1/2 hour a week or so ago! and mine finally got solved after over a year thanks to someone crossposting over on romantictimes.com's book sleuth! do you remember if these were the harlequin type books or the 'regular size' ones? none of the themes ring a bell with me though the 2nd one sounds pretty good! |

Not a clue on the first two, but check the last one and see if this is it: Dangerous Obsession by Natasha Peters. Does the heroine have gypsy blood by any chance? She kinda flips out and cuts off all of her hair at one point? If any of this is sounding familiar, that's the book you're looking for. It's been years & years since I read it, but I remember it:P Last Edited on: 9/26/08 11:39 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

Julie Garwood might be the author for the first book you described. Lyon's Lady has a h who was raised in the states by Indians and went to England to settle some family issues. She has lots of issues with English customs, and really doesn't like shoes or closed spaces. The H is a peer of the realm and also a government agent. There is a bit of humor with the culture clash between the two and also a bit of intrigue with the "family problems" Any of this ring any bells? |
