Hi!  I'm a teacher of French and Modern Greek, and I'm always looking for books about France (especially during World War II), books in French, translations of bestsellers into French (Harry Potter, Dan Brown, Patterson).  If you have any of these, please send me a message!

Thanks,

Marianna

I have two Becketts and a Camus left. I was really into existentialism in high school but now reading Beckett just makes me mopey. ;-)

I also have Oedipe/La Machine Infernale, two plays in one book. The authors escape me at the moment. It's not posted, but if you're interested I'll put it up.

These are ex-library books, by the way.

I have an old paperback (good condition though) of Entre La Vie et La Mort by Nathalie Sarraute on my shelf if you're interested!

In French I have a couple of plays by Moliere, a novel called 'Malika' by D. Bona (francophone Caribbean), Diderot on religion, and a few other odds and ends.  None are in my inventory (since I couldn't imagine that anyone would request them!) but if you'd like any please let me know and I'll post them for you.

Marianna,

I have a few Mary Higgins Clark books in French on my bookshelf. We lived in France for a few years, sent our four kids to French schools, so I may have more French books in boxes in my basement. I'll do some checking and then send you a PM to let you know what I find.

Sorry, but I am out of credits at the moment.  I have been collecting some large sets of DVDs and have transferred nearly every credit I have over to SwapaDVD.  Thanks anyway!

I, too, am always looking for French language novels.  I have many that I could swap.  A lot of Georges Simenon, translations of Agatha Cristie, and a variety of popular novels.

I have many novels in French to swap.  Lots written by Georges Simenon, many translations of Agatha Cristie and other English mystery writers, some novels that are not mysteries (sci fi, fantasy, miscellaneous).  I posted some but have many more.  Would love to identify a group of avid readers in French.  Are you one?

http://www.paperbackswap.com/book/details/9782890377936-Le+Monde+merveilleux+de+Marigold
"Le Monde merveilleux de Marigold"
It is a French translation of "Magic for Marigold" ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic_for_Marigold ) which is a children's novel written in 1929 in English. The English text of the story is free from Project Gutenberg ( http://gutenberg.net.au/ebooks03/0300681h.html ).

Thanks to all who have responded to my request for French books!  I don't know how to end this thread, but I am no longer looking for French books EXCEPT books about France during World War II and French Holocaust memoirs.  This means no novels, no classics (novels, plays or otherwise).  Sorry if that is an inconvenience to anyone!  Happy Holidays to all, Joyeux Noel, Kala Xristougenna, etc.
