we have a small book club group of six year olds.  We meet once a month and read the chosen book together and then do a craft or activity related to the book.  The book this month is "the toll bridge troll" by patricia rae wolf.  its basically a "brains over brawn" theme...about a boy who outsmarts a grumpy old troll with riddles.  I'm struggling to come up with an activity or craft that relates to this book or theme.  anyone have any ideas?

How about a game or activity using a penny? (the troll charges a penny to go over the bridge, right)?

Or maybe you could pre-print some riddles and they could staple them into a book format and decorate their own cover.

Maybe they could make paper bag puppets, 1 for the troll, 1 for the boy.

How about a prize for the one who comes up with the best riddle?  Or have them each come up with a riddle and all try to solve each.

For a craft, you could assign each to draw one item from the story (a bridge, a troll, a school bag, a coin, the mother troll under the bridge)  then put them together for one big picture
