This is bad but all I can really remember, it is likely a HQN or some other type of trade romance. I read it over a decade ago if not longer. The key points that stand out is that he is Native American (I think) and she is not. Not a historical but modern day style. She dreams about him being hurt while they are both children and then they meet yada yada yada part ways and one day his stomach hurts and his friends tell him that she must be having the baby. I know not much to go on but thought I would throw it out there and hope.

thanks

Is it a Cassie Edwards book? She pretty much exclusively writes about Native Americans.

It could also be Sheri Whitefeather , she writes a lot of Native American books for Silhouette (HQN).

You can also check out this site for her: Sheri Whitefeather

Here's a book with them together, then split and she has his baby: Jesse Hawk: Brave Father

Book Description:

SOMETHING WORTH FIGHTING FOR

His name was John Tiger, but the few who truly knew him called him the Cat. The Indian rancher locked in a bitter struggle to save the land that was his birthright, standing his ground against outsiders who cared nothing for the traditions of his people.

It was hard for this proud, solitary man to admit he needed help--and even harder to ask it of Teri Nordstrom, the woman whose memory had haunted him for so many years. But this was one battle he could not win alone.

Then, suddenly, there was far more at stake than land. Suddenly he was fighting to claim a love he had thought was lost forever--and a child he had never known was his.

Well I ordered the book but alas, not it.

the first chapter is where the female lead wakes up as a teen after having a dream and her stomach hurts, as the male lead has been hurt during his vision quest ( ibelieve).

Diana Palmer?  She writes a lot of contemporaries where her hero is usually Native American.

I've read (and own) nearly everything Diana Palmer's written and it doesn't sound like one of hers.  If you come up with a possibility, let me know and I'll pull it off my keeper shelf and see if that's it before you spend a credit.

gosh Sarah I'm envious!(about the vacation part not the diana palmer collection LOL!) I need some vacation but want to wait til it's cooler..need to figure out how many days I have..it's more complicated when we have to convert from 8 hr vacation time to 12 hr shifts...my next vacation is scheduled before Christmas and I usually come back right after the holiday and work overtime. Do you have plans to go somwhere or just relax and catch up on reading?
