Let the ereader wars begin! Saw this announcement on The Cheap today. B&N will be announcing something November 7th and all predictions are it's a brand new Nook Color. Nothing has leaked about features or price yet. Do you think it will be cheaply priced to compete with the Kindle Fire? More feature packed? Smaller? Bigger? It will be interesting to see what B&N has up there sleeves. Might be close to the Kindle Fire or close to the iPad. |

Apparently Walmart leaked an ad that showed the current Nook Color being reduced in price to $199, not a sale, a regular price. So I expect the new Nook Color will be $249. And will be full of good features. |

The hubby threw out the softball question last week. He goes "We were in Best Buy and saw this little bitty Nook." "Oh the Touch?" "Yeah, that thing's small. Have you played with it?" Me:"Yup. I've toyed with the idea of upgrading but haven't figured out a justification to do so." Wonder what Santa's bringin'.... |

You are lucky....my hubby would never dream of surprising me with something like an ereader. |

There's more that has leaked. It will be $249. It's going to be called the Nook Tablet. So, they've decided to go full bore on Tablet rather than a reduce function color ereader with tablet like functions. It's supposed to have alot more power and alot more memory. It looks like the Nook Color but is a little lighter and a little thinner. I'm sure we'll hear more before the 7th. Nancy, he might as well said "so, what do you think about a Nook first edition for Christmas..." LOL Last Edited on: 11/3/11 9:01 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

Typical for my luck. I just received the Nook Color for birthday in Sept. That's ok. I expected something new from Nook and others for the holiday season. Soon there will be more options for e-readers and tablets with lower price. ( I hope) |

Totally kicks the Amazon Fire's butt. Look at these specs! ETA: I wouldn't be surprised if that video playback number is low, perhaps. I currently get 6+ hours of MP4 viewing on my Nook Color. Last Edited on: 11/3/11 9:16 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

I already have the Nook 1st edition LOL. It's working fine. I have no justification for an upgrade except I think I want one and I won't do it myself this close to the holidays, so we'll see. |
