i've read 3-4 of them, completely out of order, and didn't feel like i was missing anything.  (Tanner's Scheme, Dawn's Awakening, Soul Deep, and a short story.)  i've heard that you might appreciate the later ones more, especially the little bits when past characters show up, if you read them in order, but my opinion is if you just want to try one out, you'll be fine.

You get all the facts about the series if you read "Tempting the Beast" first.  Tells alot about the beginnings, plot,  and main characters in the series.  LOVE THESE BOOKS!!!

Beginning:  Nightwalker by Jocelynn Drake

I agree with Norma

I have all the breed series, but I started out with Megan's Mark, Harmony' way,  Dawn's awakening,  and Tanner's scheme. these books are either in the middle or towards the end of the series.

I did not know at the time that the rest were under erotic(Ellora's Cave)

But I found out and read tempting the beast and the rest.  I was missing a lot!

I went back and reread the whole series and what a big difference.

Some people can read a series out of order with no problem, I'm not one of them.

Look for 18 books in ths series.

They are all keepers to me. I guess because I bought everyone of them new.

I have only read Tanner Scheme and liked it, I wasnt aware it was part of a series until I was halfway through it. There were a few parts where I felt a little lost, when they mentioned someone or people came in who werent introduced and/or explained, but looking back on that I think I only felt "left out" because I knew it was part of a series (psychology anyone lol)

I also didnt realize it was erotic until I read it,  I borrowed it from my grandma and I asked her if she had read it yet and she kind of hesitated, now I wonder if it was because she had and knew what it had in it and didnt want to say or if she honestly didnt know lol!!
