Do you have to read these in order? I just down loaded 2 of them (Meagan's Mark and Harmony's Way from Fictionwise)  I really don't want to have to collect the whole series. But will they be too confusing if I don't?

Well what a surprise-my library actually has Tempting The Beast, The Man Within and Kiss of Heat.  I just put Elizabeth's Wolf on my WL.

But I'd still like an answer because if I don't have to read the Ellora's cave ones first to understand the story then I'll skip them.

Mary, I've read a lot of them.  But not in order.  I didn't find it too confusing at all.

Ditto what Jessie said.  I have read some of the Breeds book, but certainly not all of them, and not in any kind of order.  I do know that there are certain elements of the story found in earlier books that carry through, and some of the characters show up in later books, but I don't think you're lost if you read them out of order or as stand-alone books.

Cool.  Not that I don't like Lora Leigh-but I have so many series going already.  Which begs the question-why did I download these in the first place?

I'm going to cancel the ones I got from the library and just try reading one of the ones I downloaded first. If I'm not following it then I'll put the library ones back on hold.

I've been reading the Seal/Black Ops or whatever books out order. But I was worried the whole Breed back history thing would be too confusing.

Mary, I love this series, and have read all (and waiting for 4/6/10, actually I'm going to pre-order). I started reading them out of order, and could follow; if you really want to appreciate the series, and all that goes on, it's best to read in order (or somewhat in order). Def. read your library's books 1st (Tempting, Man, Kiss), since they set up the storyline. Enjoy!

ETA: I had a hard time geting "Kiss of Heat" (book sold out 3 times online, before I was able to obtain), so if you can get it from your library, you're lucky!

I had a hard time letting go of this book (once I finally got it),  but it went to a buddy, so it was good.128fs318181.gif

I like Lora Leigh books.  Unfortunately my library doesn't carry her books.  I suspect they don't carry Erotica.  I'm not exactly sure that the definition of Erotica is, though.  I like her Elite Ops books because they are great suspense novels.  Other than the sex being a little more graphic than a normal Suspense/Romance novel, I'm not sure why she is considered Erotica.

Oh Mary, you have to get Dawn's Awakening while you're downloading for free - it's the best!

I'll agree with Les, start with the early library editions if available.  Once the story line is set, the reading order isn't totally necessary.  A fun series, enjoy!

you don't have to read in order (though i would read the ones you *do* have in order).  i started with Tanner's Scheme, backtracked to the other mmp ones - Megan's Mark, Harmony's Way, and Dawn's Awakening - and then started keeping up with new releases while trying to get the older ones.  as of a few months ago, i finally got all caught up.

but really, if you can get your hands on it, reading Tempting the Beast first would be great since it started the whole series.

and i agree with Willa - if you're downloading for free definitely grab Dawn's Awakening!  definitely one of the more romantic ones.  that one and Elizabeth's Wolf.

You don't have to read them in order but I will say that after having read some of the earliest ones, you kind of get an insight into a few of the characters, especially Jonas Wyatt.  He seems to find himself in just about every book even if its only for a page or two.    I just finished the Beyond the Dark anthology which has one of the Breed stories in it and it was fabulous.  I would probably never have read the rest of them, I just got it for that story.

Yeah I was surprised to see that the library had so many of her books.  They don't usually have anything erotic or considered somewhat erotic.  So the fact that they had the earlier Ellorascave released is shocking.  They do have some Shannon Mckennas. But this this is the firs time I've found straight out erotica in the library system.  Which the Ellorascave should be.  Her mass market paperback books are lighter on the erotic although still steamier than most.

OK I've decided to go ahead and get at least the ones the library has.  I don't think I'll do the others that are WL here.  I don't know how long the waiting list is for them from the library.  Check out time is a month so it could be several before I get them if there's people ahead of me.  They don't let you reknew when there's a hold on a book but they still give the full 30 day check out time.
