loved it! if you like regency romance with a little magic/paranormal, then you'll enjoy this.

Don't be fooled by the smiling faces on the cover, this book is not a lighthearted Regency romp at all. It's an excellent story of two people who have suffered much trauma and tragedy in their lives. The hero is Damien, Lord Wodesby, who is England's head "mage"(like a warlock) and the heroine is also a witch with supernatural powers, but masquerading as a governess. There are so many other plot complications, involving her first husband's evil blackmailing family, her daughter, Damien's loss of his powers, and spying during the Napoleonic wars, that I wondered how the author was going to solve them all in a fairly short book, but she did a great job, in a very emotionally affecting story. Nothing graphic, but there are references to rape and other abuse. This is the companion book to "The Would Be Witch", the heroine of that book is Damien's sister.
