Anyone else read it? I just finished it (as an audio book).

1) Why did Brierly commit suicide? Was that explained and I missed it, or is it just left to speculation?

2) (related) Is it hinted, or explicitly stated, what the Patna bumped that caused it to start leaking? Was it something Brierly felt responsible for?

3) Vague question, but - what's good (or great) about the story? To me it seems like two disparate stories, awkwardly narrated.
