I found the story to be very two dimensional. I felt that it lacked detail and conflict.
No sex scenes, though. That is worth mentioning.
The writer certainly had a clear understanding of England at the time and her references and vocabulary attest to that.
every girls dream to suddenly go from servant to heiress and have a hunky, protective vampire to watch over you.
For almost two hundred years, most vampires have forsaken the mortal world, to live in peace and serenity behind the Veil. The greatest of all vampires, Nefri, had used a powerful Medallion to create the Veil. But when Nefri had sensed some impending threat, she took the Medallion, divided it into three, and gave it to three maidens to keep and protect. Now three vampires hungry for power have slipped through the Veil and have ventured into the human world in order to find these three Medallions. And it is up to Gideon Ravel and his cousins Lucien and Sebastian to find these maidens first and to protect them and the Medallions form these renegades.
Simone Gilbert has spent a lot of time and effort establishing herself as one of London's premier drawing room hostesses. And she's used her startling beauty, intelligence and wits to maintain her position and to keep her court of admirers dancing to her tune. The entry of two men into her life however, soon turns her world upside down -- one of the gentlemen in Tristan Soltern, a smooth mannered and cold man who makes her feel threatened and uncomfortable; the other gentleman is Gideon Ravel, an arrogant and incredibly handsome man who refuses to bend his will to her's but who makes her pulses race wildly. He says that he's there to protect her, but she suspects that he only wants to claim her as a conquest. That is until Simone is threatened, and a past that she has long kept secret might be revealed. Can she trust Gideon to help her? And will he help her or turn from her in disgust?
Great vamp story
Not bad for a weekend read, but don't expect the steamy love scenes prevalent in many contemporary vampire love stories. I think the only place this book could've used some work is in the explanation of "the veil". But seeing as this is only the first of a trilogy, I'm hoping more details are revealed about this mysterious secret underworld where most of the world's vampires reside.
Gideon and Simone's story is a love story, but it's the love story of a sweet, Victorian-age virgin and the vampire who loves her enough to destroy the evil vampire out to do her harm...oh, and to wait for their wedding night. ;-)
This was pretty good. A nice light read with no suprises really. Good for an afternoon when you just want a good story to laze around to.
A wonderfully romantic read spiced with danger and intrigue.
Good short story. The Heroine aggravated me at times, but over all it was a good read.
I was unable to get into this book. It wasn't my favorite.
great paranormal read. this story determines the future of a race of vamps endangered by one who wishes to destroy them all.
Wow! I couldn't put this down.
Vampires and a beautiful maiden. Who could resist? Repusled by one vampire and drawn to another, yet she doesn't know why, Simone struggles to keep her mind and her own personal secret. Gideon struggles to keep her safe and yet keep his true feelings and desires inside. Humans and vampires shouldn't mix, or should they?
My Lord Vampire is the name of this book. It\'s absolutely great!! Author: Debbie Raleigh

A GOOD VAMPIRE ROMANCE. I REALLY ENJOYED IT.
Not bad, not great either. Interesting twist in the end though.
This book was very limited on the romance. The concept was confusing with some information that was not filled in during the book. The characters were very interesting. Overall the book was a nice quick read great for a lazy day.
Immortal vampire Gideon Ravel has been sent back to the mortal world from beyond the Veil to protect the guardian of The Medallion. A protective device that separates the vampiric world from the hungers and desires of the mortal world, The Medallion is entrusted to the care of a mortal woman, Simone, who does not understand its power. Neither does she know the danger that threatens her from the rebel band of vampires who want to conquer the mortal world. Simone, beautiful yet tragically scarred by her past, cannot understand the strange and otherworldly man who has captured her attention and wants to lay claim to her heart. Indeed, her very soul seems to respond to his caresses. But each is hiding terrible secrets from the other, and it may take a threat to her immortal soul and the very existence of her world before they dare to trust in each other's love. Debbie Raleigh has a triumphant new Regency with this first tale in a proposed trilogy called Immortal Rogues. Tender and terrifying by turns, MY LORD VAMPIRE (4) is an exciting breakthrough book for Regency fans who also enjoy the dark allure of the preternatural. (Aug., 256 pp.,
This was part of a trilogy of vampire regency romance books. I enjoyed it.
