This story isn't one of this author's better ones. Try THE OVERLORD'S BRIDE, or any of her Harlequin Historical "Warrior" series, for better examples of her writing. Here, the writing is weaker: the pace is too slow, and the love story isn't particularly strong. It has some nice moments; it's an OK read, but it isn't memorable.
Lady Adelaide is determined never to marry. Never to allow a man to be able to run her life. Armand de Boisbaston needs a wealty wife to give him the funds to ransom his brother held captive. They are forced into a match by fate. Now Lady Adelaide is rethinking her ideas.
Ok, but not up to the standard I would expect from mS. moore.
