Over the past several weeks I have requested a lot of books - over a dozen.  Some were off the shelf requests, some were wishlist offers.  Well in the past week, three of them have timed out after no response from the other member.  OK, I can live with that.  But my credit balance seemed lower than I thought it should be so I looked at my credit registrry and I see that I was charged a credit for each book I requested, but the credit was not returned to my bank when the request timed out.  So I've lost three credits just in the past week.  Is this how it's supposed to be?  Who gets that not-returned credit?  Why isn't it refunded to me when the request timed out, so that I can use it if the book is offered in the future?  Something just doesn't look right to me.

If the book wasn't a WLed book, the request rolled over to the next person in the FIFO line, unless you cancel the request.  If you look at your "Books Requested' tab, the books should be listed there, with the date requested.  Good luck.  Pat

If you still think it looks low, use the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of the page to get someone from PBS admin to look at it for you. They are the only ones who can see inside your account.

Credit should be returned if the transaction times-out or is otherwise cancelled, unless it rolled over to another member offering the book.  If this is not the case, you can contact PBS admin.

If the requests that timed out were books that are readily available in the system, no the credit will not be returned because it is passed on along with the request  to the next person in line with the book. You should be able to account for all of the credits between active requests and books in transit and books received. The only credits that would have been returned would have been Wish List books that timed out and were not reposted yet.

I don't think time outs for available books that roll over to another member show up in you credit registry. Unless they were accepted and then not marked mailed.  So you wouldn't see it refunded and then respent for the reorder in you credit registry. The book would just remain in your Books Requested Tab until it was accepted or ran out of senders and became a WL book.  I haven't had one time out in ages so I can't verify this in my credit registry.
