Way back in September I ordered a book. By mid October is was lost in the mail. I received it today! I was so excited because it was a book I really wanted! So, I was looking at the envelope and thinking what great shape it was in and how the book looks brand new. I look at the date mailed and it was NOVEMBER 26th!!!!!! Obviously the person had never mailed it when she said she did. I'm not quite sure how to handle this, I can see that she has only been a member since August, and sent just 4 books out. Should I just go through the process of the book has been received, or should I send her a pm and ask her about it? It just annoys me because I make sure that I mail every book when I say I am going to!

I wouldn't ding the sender - you never know what's going to happen. I had one book that was apparently lost in the mail that finally got returned to sender, then she sent it out without enough postage (oops) and it got returned to her again, and she was very kind enough to send it out a THIRD time to me. I finally received it, but didn't find out the back story till I was following up on my missing items and she was on her third sendout. Up until that time, I had things that said book had been sent and mailer printed months and months before, but no book. (PS Some people on this site are just SUPER nice!!! we mostly hear about the bad apples, but there are some WONDERFUL people here too) Last Edited on: 12/3/07 1:06 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

Yes, it's the mail date on the printed postage. I will of course let her know what happened, I didn't think about it being sent back to her and her sending it out again! Robin- I totally agree! I've not had any real problems with anyone on here, I've had some really nice communications with people both who sent and received books from me. I've just had such a string of lost books lately, it get's frustrating! Of course, I know most of the time it's the post office's fault! :) |

I never worry about it if a book is late..... I am always happy to receive it! There are so many things that could have happened. Once a package got stuck at another post office just slipped thru the cracks so to speak, until someone happened to find it!!! |

I received a response right back from the sender. She said that she has been receiving books back that she sends media mail for some reason, so she sent it back to me and I got it this time! I'm glad I got it and that she got her credit! |

I recently got a book that had timed out and was considered lost by the system. The mangled package had gotten returned to the sender, she PM'd me to let me know, and she then had to re-package and re-mail the book to me. So, she had actually mailed out the book much earlier but then had to re-wrap it because the packaging had gotten mangled by the USPS. If you didn't already order another copy of the book, I'd go ahead and just give her the credit. |

I know it's annoying it isn't it? I got a VERY rude message from someone on SwapAcd because I marked a CD with a late postmark. All I did was fill out the form you get when you mark something recived. Some people hu? I guess what I'd do is contact Paperback Swap about it and see how they think you should handle it. I am sure they can keep a record of how this person is acting on Paperback Swap.
