This book was written by Carolyn Parkhurst (she also wrote Dogs of Babel which was a good read as well - I read both this past week). I had never heard of her before (of course that doesn't mean anything - she might be famous for all I know! LOL!). I really liked the writing style and the approach of the book. I don't want to say too much but it was a clever way to write a story. Book Description: Laura is awakened in the middle of the night by her teenage daughter, who has barely spoken a word to her in months. Following Cassie up to her attic room, Laura discovers her daughter's shocking secret--and moves quickly to try to set things right. Last Edited on: 8/19/08 9:34 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

I thought this book was very interesting ,also! It kind of opens your eyes to the fact that everyone doesn't really know the closest people in their lives. We definitely keep some things from certain people. |

Hi I read it also and was good read - kinda like a weird "Amazing Race" TV show in book form |

I read the authors first book, Dogs of Babel which was great! I thought I would read the second book but honestly I could not get into this one. From the description on the back of the book I thought...great this is something I will enjoy. But, I found it to be very slow moving and just didn't go anywhere. |

I really enjoyed this book as well! It was a quick and very interesting read. I have her other books "Dogs of Babel" in my huge TBR pile. |

I really liked this book too! I don't watch reality tv, but the story still drew me in. The relationships between the pairs of teams had some neat insights. I recommend it! |

I liked this one as well, and there was a neat "twist" at the end. Dogs of Babel was better, though. |
