I had a book sent to me and it had DC on it. The book was sent out 3 days before I moved. I didn't receive it before I moved, so I figured once I did my change of address, it would get sent to my new address. It's been 3 weeks and the DC says it has arrived, but I haven't received it. I can't do anything until the 21st, but I'm wondering if the book was lost in the mail or something. Can someone help me? |

Media mail is not automatically forwarded. If you did not make special arrangements to have this package forwarded, it was most likely delivered to the new resident. If that person returns it to the Post Office, they'll probably return it to the sender rather than forwarding it to you. You can contact your Post Office and find out if there's anything they can do. |

Please don't take this wrong. I'm not scolding you or anything but I am curious why you would request a book and have it sent to your old address just a few days before you moved? When I moved last year I put my account on vacation hold two weeks ahead of time, and made arrangements with a former neighbor to forward anything that got delivered to the old address by mistake. |

I dont' want to offend either but I didn the same thing as Bernhard. I put my account on hold actually a few motnhs before I moved. If the book gets sent back to the sender it'll arrive postage due if it was send media mail. You should offer htem a credit to cover that and another one if you want them to resend the book. If it doesn't arrive postage due they are not obligated to pay postage again to resend it unless you give them anothe rcredit. |
