Time is lost, my people gone

My way of life had long since passed

The beat of the drums, the voices in song

We knew the promises wouldn’t last

We’ve lived through life; we’ve lived through death

My people shedding tears all the way

The wind, the drums, the whispers long gone

We never did have a say

The old ones, the warriors, the women and babes

All of my people cut down

Our ways, our life, the air that we breathe

We were all ran into the ground

We stood our ground, we fought our fight

We pushed them back when they came

To this day we still stand strong

But our life will never be the same

Very brave and sad recounting of your history.

Anyone with a Native American history should read this. It is just how I feel.
